What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity that brings people together to make a difference through philanthropy and service. Held each year following Thanksgiving, it is an opportunity for the Whittier College community to come together in support of our students and the programs that help them thrive.
All Giving Tuesday donations are tax-deductible. Whittier College is recognized as a 501(c)(3) by the Internal Revenue Service (Tax ID 95-1644048).
Do you accept gifts of securities, donor-advised funds (DAFs), wire transfers, or IRA distributions?
Yes! Whittier College accepts a variety of asset-based gifts, including securities, donor-advised fund grants, wire transfers, and IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs).
A gift of appreciated stock may provide valuable tax benefits, while a QCD from your IRA can help satisfy all or part of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). This Giving Tuesday, turn your gift into a lasting investment in the next generation of Poets.

What is the Donor Wall?
The Donor Wall celebrates the generosity of our Giving Tuesday supporters by recognizing their gifts in real time. When making a donation, you can choose how your gift appears, including the option to display your name, remain anonymous, or keep your donation amount private.
What is the difference between hiding my name on the Donor Wall and making my donation anonymous?
Donor Wall preferences only affect how your gift appears on this Giving Tuesday website. You may choose to display your name, hide your name, or keep your donation amount private while still allowing Whittier College to recognize your support through other donor recognition programs.
If you choose to make your gift anonymous, Whittier College will not publicly recognize your donation. During this giving process, you may also request that future gifts be treated as anonymous. Please note that Donor Wall display preferences must be selected each time you make a gift.
Can I make a gift by phone?

Is there a minimum gift amount?
Yes. Whittier College accepts gifts of $5 or more.
