Poet Student-Athlete Leadership Academy (PSALA)
GIVE TO THE POET STUDENT-ATHLETE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY
Empowering the Next Generation of Poet Leaders
The Poet Student-Athlete Leadership Academy (PSALA) develops and empowers Whittier College student-athletes and coaches to become leaders in athletics, academics, and life. Grounded in Pride, Integrity, and Excellence, the Academy provides leadership development, mentorship, and service opportunities that prepare students to become Champions in Life.
Our Impact
PSALA strengthens campus pride and connection through signature events such as Sports Crawls, Midnight Madness, Homecoming, and Division III Week. We also partner with organizations including the Boys & Girls Club and Special Olympics, giving student-athletes meaningful opportunities to serve the Whittier community while developing empathy, humility, and servant leadership.
Our Immediate Needs
We are seeking support for student-athlete retreats, leadership workshops, and service-learning programs that build confidence, resilience, teamwork, and leadership skills.
Your gift directly funds these transformational experiences, helping Poet student-athletes grow into leaders who make a positive impact on campus and beyond.
Together, we can empower Poets to lead with purpose and excellence.
With gratitude,
Jessica Purcell-Fitu, Assistant Director for Student-Athlete Success and Compliance
