GIVE TO SWIMMING & DIVING

Swimming and Diving funding goal for the 2026-27 academic year: $20,000

Hello fellow Poets and Poet supporters!

As we dive into our Giving Tuesday fundraising event, we are grateful to have the support of such a passionate community. Your gifts to our teams will go a long way toward augmenting our experiences as college student-athletes: from training equipment such as Destro Towers for swimming resistance and dry boards for our divers, to more comfortable hotel accommodations and warmup pants and jackets for uniformity, your gifts help to make a better – and better looking – team.

We have had some wonderful student-athletes and families at Whittier since I’ve been here: I’ve been lucky enough to witness senior swimmer Thomas Langlois threepeat at the MPSF Open Water Champs, and to have standout D1 transfer Honza Zika matching Thomas’ top NCAA performance in the 200 butterfly last year, placing 6th in the country.

On the women’s side we have had diver Miriam Brownell secure a regionals position on the boards, and senior Tara Hendrickson has combined with Junior Aira Takeuchi to be two of the most exciting breaststrokers in the SCIAC, to say nothing of their prowess in the classroom, with Tara serving as student-president of Phi Epsilon Kappa, the national fraternity of Kinesiology professionals, and Aira participating in civics as a travelling member of the Model United Nations team.

We have all been working hard, and the College works hard to provide us with what we need to compete, but for those extra things that make the experience even better for our athletes, we are depending on you and your network to help set us up for sustained future success.

Thank you for all you do for our student-athletes, Go Poets!
