Student Emergency Fund

Emergency Funding and Assistance Programs

From time to time, students on any campus may face unforeseen financial hardships and difficult life events that affect their ability to complete their studies. The Student Emergency Fund, supported entirely by donors, provides practical assistance in situations when a little extra help will go a long way.

This academic year, 257 students have used the Poet Pantry, and a total of 14,857 items from the pantry have been used. 80 students have been supported with emergency funds, tech. assistance, transportation, and food assistance (meal vouchers). In addition to supporting students experiencing financial hardship and food insecurity, the fund now also supports:

Emergency mental health support
Transportation support (partnership with L.A. Metro)
