Emergency Funding and Assistance Programs
From time to time, students on any campus may face unforeseen financial hardships and difficult life events that affect their ability to complete their studies. The Student Emergency Fund, supported entirely by donors, provides practical assistance in situations when a little extra help will go a long way.
In addition to supporting students experiencing a financial hardship, the fund now also supports:
- Emergency mental health support
- Food insecurity (the Poet Pantry and meal voucher program)
- Technology assistance
- Transportation support (partnership with L.A. Metro)
In fiscal year 2021, the Student Emergency Fund assisted 53 students experiencing a financial crisis, with grants ranging from $100-$500. The Poet Pantry assisted 41 students during this same time, and requests for this resource have increased since students returned to campus this year.
We can't thank you enough for your ongoing support!
