What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday is a worldwide movement that harnesses the spirit of generosity, empowering individuals and organizations to create meaningful change in their communities and beyond. At Whittier College, your contributions on this special day have a profound impact, enriching the lives of our students and enhancing their experiences here.
All Giving Tuesday donations are tax-deductible. Whittier College is recognized as a 501(c)(3) by the Internal Revenue Service (Tax ID 95-1644048).
What is the Donor Wall?
The Donor Wall celebrates the generosity of our Giving Tuesday supporters by honoring their contributions. Donors can personalize how their gifts are displayed on this site through options available on the donation page, allowing them to choose whether to keep their name, donation amount, or both private.
Can I make a gift by phone, stock, or wire transfer?
Yes, call 562.907.4209 to make your gift by phone. Please have your credit card ready.
Gifting securities (stocks, mutual funds, bonds) to Whittier College offers tax advantages over cash gifts. You will receive credit for the full market value of the securities and will avoid capital gains tax. Call 562.464.4577 or email development@whittier.edu for information about making a stock gift or wire transfer.
What is the difference between hiding my name on the Donor Wall and making my donation anonymously?
Hiding your name and/or the amount you gave on the donor wall only changes the way your gift is acknowledged on this website. Your donation may be acknowledged through other methods of recognizing Whittier College donors.
If you wish to make your gift anonymous, answer "Yes" to the question "Do you prefer to make this donation anonymously?" This will also give you the opportunity to request that all donations you make to Whittier College in the future be treated the same way. Please note, that you will also need to select your Donor Wall display preferences for each gift you make.
Is there a minimum gift amount?
Whittier College accepts gifts of $5 or more.
Don't see your preferred Fund Designation?
On the Donation Form, select "Other" as the Fund Designation and then type in where you would like to direct your gift.
